The central idea of thesis is to study the feasibility and diversity of data as a narrative method in communication design. Data is not just cold numbers on the computer, but more recording of our lives. By dismantling the pomegranate, a fruit that assumpted by me to be abstracted into a database, the project explores its expression in multiple dimensions: time, space, quantity, and pattern by extracting and recording the seeds, calyx, and textures of the pomegranate, in an attempt to lay a foundation for the exploration of the whole thesis. In addition, through the media of typography, video, and interactive book design, it also take an attempt to explore the diversity of data representation as much as possible. By establishing these case studies and methodologies, I try to seek newer ways of collecting, organizing, and presenting data, while providing a more comprehensive database for more profound's project designs and concepts.
